I have never had pleasant thoughts about curry. In fact, the thought of that strong very distinct smell brings back memories of dry heaves and gag reflexes... But as I get better (not older) I've made a commitment to do things I wouldn't normally do, try things I wouldn't normally try and go places I wouldn't normally go. Well, recently a nerd that we all know and love asked me to go eat at a local Thai restaurant. It's so local, I can see it from my back window. Anyway, I agreed to try it and off we went. Anothai Cuisine is located on the Northwest side of town in a little busy corner of a well known park n ride in Cypress.
It was pretty simple inside, no fuss no muss. The scenery was pretty basic and there wasn't much in the way of decor. In light of that, my hopes were not very high. But at this point there was no turning back. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Let me confirm... It was THE BEST! They have thoroughly changed my mind about curry and Thai food in general. I had no idea that the food would be that good! From the lemongrass soup to the green curry with tofu... Amazing! I topped it all off with mango and sticky rice. Everything was wonderful. They even had these neat little tea pots made with the tea glass built in. The food was reasonably priced and since they are situated right in my back yard, the location is perfect! If your ever in Cypress waiting for traffic to die down or just have a taste for Thai be sure to stop by.
