Every morning before leaving for work I make a smoothie. With the Houston traffic, smoothies are the way to go.
1 Granny Smith apple or any apple (seeds included)
2 cups of kale (or whatever looks good)
2 cups of spinach (again, the same as the kale)
1 tbsp Agave/honey or whatever natural sweetener
1/2 pear (great sweetener)
8-10 ice cubes
1 cup of almond milk or water (less calories)
4 or more clubs of ice
1 tsp flax seed. (Tbsp if you want a nutty taste)
white grape juice
You can add anything you want to your smoothie. For the most part, the top ingredients are the base for the smoothie. Also, because I'm vegetarian, I add 1 scoop of GNC SuperFoods 25 Berry Flavor and 1 scoop of GNC Puredge Complete Vegan Protein Natural Vanilla to make sure I'm getting enough protein each day.
So all I do is put all the ingredients in a VitaMix and turn it on high. The longer the VitaMix runs, the more liquified the smoothie becomes. I like my smoothies really liquified.
